Professor of Bible and Archaeology at the Faculty of Theology of Lugano, director of the Istituto di Cultura e Archeologia delle Terre Bibliche.
Chercheur associ\u00e9 at the \u00c9cole biblique at arch\u00e9ologique fran\u00e7aise of Jerusalem, he is in charge of the publication of the final report on the archaeological excavations at the caves of the Qumran area. He directed excavations at Qumran Caves 3Q and 11Q, and surveys at Caves 1Q, 2Q and 6Q.
He leads the research project \u201cThe Great Isaiah Scroll: A Biography\u201d in collaboration with Hagit Maoz, curator of the Shrine of the Book. The book The Caves of Qumran<\/em> (Leiden 2016), edited by him, won the \u201cBest scholarly book in archaeology\u201d award by the Biblical Archaeology Society in 2019. He is the founder and director of the summer school of archaeology \u201cGerusalemme\u201d (www.archaeojerusalem.org).<\/p>\n

Eugenio Alliata, ofm<\/h1>\n

He participated in numerous excavation campaigns in Israel and directed the excavations of the Western Wall Tunnel. He is the author, among others, of the best-selling book Atlas of Jerusalem<\/em>, which was awarded the \u201cIsh-Shalom\u201d prize for the study of the land of Israel. \nHis main research areas include on the coinages of the late Persian period, but he has also worked on Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Crusaders and Modern time coinages.

Classical archaeologist specializing in Hellenistic and Roman art and architecture of the southern Levant. She heads the Classical Archaeology sub-department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and directs excavations at several sites, including the Byzantine village at En Gedi, a Roman temple at Horvat Midras, and a monumental structure south of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
Her research focuses on architectural decoration of Herodian Jerusalem and the Second Temple period. She has published extensively on topics including Herodian architecture, ancient synagogues, and Roman-period public buildings. Her major publications include\u00a0Herodian Architectural Decoration and King Herod’s Royal Portico<\/em>\u00a0(2017) and the co-edited volume\u00a0The Basilica in Roman Palestine<\/em>\u00a0(2021).<\/p>\n
